COVID-19 UPDATE

What we do

As the pandemic continues to spread around the globe, therefore, affecting all aspects of our daily lives, here at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (FHT), Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is no different.

COVID-19 has had a major impact on all of us, whether it is studying or working. However, due to the excellent response by the Thai Government, local authorities, businesses and local communities working together, Phuket has remained relatively unaffected.

Here at FHT, the majority of classes are now conducted back in the classroom. We expect this to continue for the upcoming semester starting in August 2021. We were delighted to welcome six exchange students from our partner universities in Europe at the beginning of this semester, albeit, they had to undergo a 14-day quarantine period after arriving in Thailand. The students came from Finland, Switzerland and Belgium. In addition to our six exchange students from Europe, who have decided to complete their study abroad semester at PSU, we also welcomed 64 full-time international students, who joined our BBA Program and 14 students who joined our MBA Program. These included students from China, Japan, Cambodia, Philippines, Russia, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Ukraine, Taiwan and last but by no means least, England, all of whom are now happily studying with local students in a safe, classroom COVID FREE environment, experiencing Thai culture and hospitality in the Land of Smiles.
