First-year students in Hospitality Management visit Chalong Bay Distillery
On 27th February 2022, our first-year hospitality management students had the opportunity to make up for lost time due to their online studies during COVID-19. The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism (Prince of Songkla University) arranged a field trip to Chalong Bay Distillery intending to enhance our students’ knowledge of beverage and in particular about the distillation process of rum. Chalong Bay produces rum made from Thai sugarcane while emphasizing the importance of sustainability.
The highlight of the trip was a hands-on workshop that allowed our students to practice their skills to prepare authentic cocktails/mocktails, including gaining a better understanding of different beverages.
