
The Tourism-Zero 2nd Info Day, held at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, brought together 134 participants from both academia and the tourism industry to promote and launch a sustainable tourism curriculum based on Zero Waste principles. The event emphasized aligning curriculum development with industry needs, while also providing a platform to exchange approaches for addressing climate change impacts and improving waste management in tourism destinations.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of four new courses in Zero Waste Tourism:
- 801-117 Responsible Consumers and Global Warming Impacts of Waste
- 801-118 Zero Waste in Hospitality and Tourism Activities
- 801-119 Waste Management under Municipal Context
- 801-120 Environmental Impact Assessment
These courses are designed to integrate both theoretical knowledge and practical application, equipping students and professionals with the skills needed to effectively address sustainability challenges in the tourism industry. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to advancing sustainable tourism development.
