The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus, has officially launched the PSU INNO4Tourism Career Support Center in Thailand, marking a significant milestone in the ERASMUS+ Project: Innovative Curricula for Lifelong Learning of Sustainable Tourism Workforce (INNO4Tourism). The opening ceremony was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, the President of PSU, alongside key participants from the tourism industry, associations, and educational sectors.

The INNO4Tourism ERASMUS+ initiative, under the leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Tatiyaporn Jarumaneerat, focuses on enhancing the sustainable tourism workforce in Thailand and Laos. The project, which spans three years (from December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2026), is financially supported by the European Union with a total budget of €748,055 (approximately 29 million baht). The core objective is to strengthen the tourism industry's educational foundations by improving the skills of students and personnel while promoting sustainability in tourism practices.

One of the key achievements of the project is the establishment of Career Guidance Centers (Career Offices) at four partner universities across Thailand and Laos. These centers will serve as hubs for career development, equipping students and future professionals with the necessary tools to thrive in the competitive global tourism sector.

In addition, the project will foster greater cooperation between academia and the tourism industry through the creation of University-Business Cooperation (UBC) mechanisms. The integration of online courses, consisting of eight modules on tourism, service management, and information technology, will further support the development of future curricula.

During the event, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed, solidifying the collaboration between universities, businesses, and government sectors to enhance the international competitiveness of the tourism workforce.
